As well as being a prolific and successful artist with his group the Bad Seeds, Nick Cave is also a talented score composer.
Throughout his illustrious career Cave has composed and performed music for film with a variety of collaborators including Mick Harvey and Blixa Bargeld with whom he completed the scores for ‘To Have and To Hold’ (1996, dir. John Hillcoat) and ‘Ghosts… Of The Civil Dead’ (1988, dir. John Hillcoat) Arguably his most successful collaboration in this arena has been with fellow Australian and Bad Seed Warren Ellis, with whom Cave has composed original music for a number of films and documentaries including, ‘The Proposition’ (2005, dir. John Hillcoat), ‘The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford’ (2007, dir. Andrew Dominik) and ‘The Road’ (2009, John Hillcoat) Cave’s songs have also appeared in a great number of feature films including ‘Wings of Desire’ (1987, dir. Wim Wenders), ‘Batman Forever’ (1995, dir. Joel Schumacher) and ‘Scream’ (1996, dir. Wes Craven). |
