Recoil is the recording persona/musical project of electronic musician, composer, arranger, producer and former Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder. Recoil started in 1986 as a side project to Depeche Mode and an outlet for Wilder’s more experimental, less pop-oriented compositions, but when he left the band in 1995 it evolved into his primary project.

 

Over the course of the last twenty five years Recoil have produced a series of dark, experimental records that have push the boundaries of electronica and have won an ever expanding cult following.
