Emit Bloch

London based American country beatnik Emit Bloch draws on a rich history to create his distinct brand of authentic sounding lo-fi bluegrass music. Primarily relying on the basics of voice, guitar and harmonica, Bloch fuses old timey structures, absurdist wit and earthy melancholy to produce highly narrative country tunes that bring something fresh and vital to the great American tradition of the country folk song.

An exceptional songwriter very much in the lineage that runs from Hank Williams to Woody Guthrie, through to Bob Dylan and beyond – Bloch recorded the songs for the lo-fi country of his debut album ‘Dictaphones Vol. 1’ at home from his kitchen table for the princely sum of just £6 – all tracks recorded directly to Dictaphone.
